Mon/Wed: Coding Workshop: "Learning the Basics of Unity" (Grades 3-8)

Unity is the ultimate game development platform to build high-quality 3D/2D games and interactive stories. This is a beginner-level class for students who have no or limited experience with Unity or computer programming. Even if you don’t have a knack for programming, you can still achieve a lot in Unity with tools from the Asset Store and artist and designer-friendly features integrated within the editor.

Students will be able to:

• Develop Unity Skills
• Gain confidence using the Unity interface
• Explore core concepts of game development in Unity
• Create their own game from scratch

Game Design Skills:

• Consider and improve the player experience throughout their game
• Use artist tools to improve the look of their game
• Create 2D and 3D games from scratch
• Get acquainted with the Unity interface
• Create and manage in-game assets
• Control camera and lighting
• Learn the basic principles of 2D and 3D game creation
• Create scripts in C#
• Design a game

Prior to class, please Download and Install Unity Hub here: https://unity3d.com/get-unity/download

*Install Unity Hub first as a personal user.

*Then use Unity Hub to download the Unity Editor

* Go to Installations in Unity Hub and click "Add" to add a "Unity Editor Installation"
