Description

**This class is for students entering 3rd Grade**

In this workshop, we will spend 2 hours each day going through the 9 types of questions on the CogAT test – Verbal (Sentence Completion, Analogies, Classification), Non-Verbal (Paper Folding, Analogies, Classification), and Quantitative (Number Puzzles, Analogies, Number Series).

The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) is an effective and empirically validated testing instrument for gifted and talented identification criteria used by school districts across the nation. Our instructors have prepared dynamic and engaging learning experiences to help your student unlock their full potential in order to be successful on test day.

We firmly believe that an investment in our CogAT test prep course will be an investment in your child’s cognitive development that will pay off for years to come. In this course, students will work with our instructors to practice specific approaches to each test question type and build testing confidence through targeted practice activities. Students will study the principles of handling each type of question, they will get tips and strategies to help them answer different question types, and they will work through plenty of practice questions so they will know just what to expect when taking the actual test. Our instructors have thousands of hours of experience guiding students to CogAT mastery.

Enroll your student in our CogAT test prep course today to give them the competitive edge necessary to perform at their highest potential on exam day.

Instructor's Bio:
I have been with TestingMom's online tutoring since it launched. I have worked with kids anywhere from 3-14 years old. I have taught ELA, Math and numerous Gifted and Talented tests.

A message from Sushmita:

I have been working with children aged 4-12 for the past 5 years. I love to share their enthusiasm and show them the path to achieve whatever they set out for. I love math and science, I would be delighted if I could instill that passion for learning in all my students. I believe I have a blended style of teaching. I strongly feel that one size fits all does not hold good. It is the child’s learning style that should decide my teaching style. I encourage them to think, make mistakes, learn from mistakes, and move on.

Upasna P. says:

I liked how the teacher gave each student chance to go through the question in each section and explained how to derive the answer when they got stuck or had the wrong answer. She had good patience with kids and explained well.

We found the class very useful for verbal and non-verbal.

Suzy says:

PP says:

Excellent Teacher! My daughter took a few classes with Ms. Sushmita for her 5th grade CogAT exam. She really enjoyed the classes with her. She was always looking forward to the class. Ms. Sushmita not only is an excellent teacher guiding my kid with how to approach the questions but also connected with my child so well. My daughter was disappointed knowing that the classes were coming to an end as she enjoyed solving the questions with the teacher. She is very efficient and guided my daughter with improving her analytical skills. We tried a few other teachers as all teachers were not available at all times and we were really impressed with the qualification of the teachers.

Caroline says:

She is very patient and kind to answer all parents’ questions even after the class is done already online. Thanks so much! ?

Candy says:

My daughter really enjoyed this class. She said at first, she was nervous, but halfway through the class, she was happy and excited. My daughter said she learned a lot in this class and feels more confident.

We loved the class. Ms. Sushmita is an amazing teacher. She explained all the concepts very clearly and gave one-to-one interaction to every child. Very interesting camps. The instructors keep the kids involved throughout. I loved this CogAT Crammer camp. Even if the child does not qualify in GT, I think it is an interesting way to increase their critical and analytical skills.

Elisa says:

The CogAT Crammer was a wonderful experience for my daughter. The pace of the class was just right, and my daughter really enjoyed it. We had the session on Saturday and Sunday, and she took the CogAT on Tuesday, and we were notified on Wednesday that based on her score, she will be admitted into the Gifted and Talented program for this upcoming school year! Very good instructor. Kept the kids engaged and covered a great deal of material over the course of two days. Also gave the kids additional test-taking strategies in order to prepare them.

Jennifer says:

The class was fun and a great introduction to the CogAT so kids aren’t overwhelmed when they see the questions on test day.

Vira says:

The instructor explained everything very well. Taking into consideration that kids need some break during a 2-hour workshop. Sushmita was able to keep kids engaged at all the times. The instructor not only knows the test materials well but also is very knowledgeable about different approaches to kids of different age and attention span.

Traci A. says:

My daughter thought the class was fun.

Sarah M. says:

The class was interactive, and useful.

Tiffany loved the class and the instruction provided. She felt comfortable asking questions and truly feels like it will help her improve her score. She loved how the teacher gave such good feedback and gave her the confidence that she needed. We will definitely look into taking another class! Our child had an amazing experience. Sushmita was great and we highly recommend her. You can tell that she was very passionate about the topic!

Jennifer says:

We couldn\'t find a crammer for the 3rd grade test, so we signed up for 5th grade just to expose him to the kinds of questions he might encounter. The teacher worked very well with him. She did a good job walking everyone through how to think about the questions.

Yodita says:

Ms. Sushmita is one of the best teachers because she encourages kids to explain their reasoning for each answer. Her teaching style is very effective, and she is the gold standard. After her class, your kid is able to independently think through each section of the different sections of the CogAT. She gets an A+. Our kid did the CogAT test after taking Ms. Susmita\\\'s class and scored 98%-99% in the 4 sections and 95% in the last section. She is queen B of the CogAT testing.
