Good readers can interpret the more abstract ideas presented in text, however, not everyone is naturally born with these skills. But the good news is anyone can learn how to do it!
In this five-session course, learners will be taught step-by-step how to collect the clues authors leave behind and analyze them to determine the author's purpose for writing, the author's point of view, and the central ideas and themes in texts. Students will practice these skills with a variety of fiction and nonfiction selections.
