How I Work With Kids
- When working with students, my first approach is to ask what they have learned and feel they understand beyond a beginner's knowledge. Creating starting points and building projects that will test them on these skills listed. This will help create a path that I feel will best suit the student to keep growing and developing the skills they have developed while adding new ones. The path I create is always adjustable, as some students might learn faster than others or vice versa, and being adaptable is one of my strongest suits with students.
- I do my best to get the most from students by keeping sessions as engaging as possible. As someone who has taken courses in programming, I understand how tedious and slow things can be. Over my teaching time, I found new ways to keep it interesting and fun for all students. No student is the same, and I have made sure to master adapting to a student's way of learning.
- One of my biggest advantages in working with students is being able to relate to them on some level. Not only as a gamer, but as someone who works in the tech industry I have an easier time keeping up with new trends. This helps me relate class subjects to something students seek for entertainment, such as video games, movies, Marvel movies, music, and more.
