How I Work With Kids
  • My first principle is to relate to your children the way I would want a teacher/tutor to relate to my own. As a classroom teacher with 12 years of experience and a parent who home-schooled my children for 4 years, I can relate well to all kinds of kids and empathize with the challenges parents face.
  • I believe children can rise to the expectations adults set out for them; this requires making expectations clear and concrete, modeling what success looks like, and giving them specific praise when they succeed,  gentle correction when they make mistakes, and encouragement when they want to get up.  Children of any age are motivated by rewards, and I will work with parents to set up reward systems as needed.

What Parents Say
  • “You have helped my child mature into an independent, adult thinker” - IB parent
  • "Tutor Jeremy is patient and understanding. He is an experienced teacher whom teaches based on how my daughter learns (visual learner and repetition). He taught test taking strategies which not only helped her for the CogAT test but also in the future for other tests. We had a positive experience and highly recommend Tutor Jeremy and TestingMom."
