i-Ready Diagnostic for Kindergarten through 1st grade
i-Ready Diagnostic Kindergarten – 1st Grade Sample Questions
The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive online test that is intended to show your child’s understanding of Math and Reading and help figure out what your child is ready to learn next. As an adaptive test, questions will get easier or harder depending on how your child is progressing on the test. Questions may range up to three grade levels above your child’s current grade.
The i-Ready Diagnostic is given in the following order for children in kindergarten and 1st Grade.

Hi Diana, Thank you for reaching out and expressing your interest in supporting your son’s learning journey, particularly in his preparation for the i-Ready tests. Your proactive involvement in his education, especially given his ADHD, is truly commendable.
Familiarize your son with the test format by practicing with Testing Mom questions. You can access thousands of i-Ready questions after you sign-up for a membership.
Here are other tips to help prepare your son:
Set a Consistent Schedule: Children with ADHD often benefit from a consistent routine. Set aside a specific time each day for him to work on learning activities, and break it into manageable chunks.
Utilize Engaging Learning Materials: Use interactive and engaging study materials that align with the i-Ready curriculum. This includes math and reading activities that are grade-appropriate.
Promote Active Learning: Allow him to actively participate in learning. Instead of simply telling him the information, allow him to discover the answers himself. This helps to reinforce the material and make learning more enjoyable.
Regular Breaks: Make sure to incorporate regular short breaks during study periods. This can be especially helpful for children with ADHD as it can help to maintain focus over longer periods.
Patience and Positive Reinforcement: Reinforce his efforts with praise and encouragement. Positive reinforcement can be very motivating.
In terms of tracking his progress, Testing Mom’s Digital Tutor program will let you track his progress over time with detailed reports. These reports can show his strengths and areas that may require extra attention. If you want additional support or specific practice materials, we would recommend reaching out directly to his teacher or the school’s educational support services once school starts in the fall.
Remember, the goal of the i-Ready test is to help identify your child’s unique learning needs. It’s not about getting every question right, but about understanding where he is in his learning journey. The fact that he has your support already gives him a great head start.

Number 4, “Which thing is in both pictures”, asks for a singular answer. However there appears a frog and water in both. That makes the question grammatically incorrect.
