SCAT Test
What is the SCAT Test?
The Center for Talented Youth (CFY) at Johns Hopkins uses the School and College Ability Test (SCAT Test) to identify talented 2nd – 12 graders for their program. The SCAT test is an “above grade level” test. Students in 2nd – 3rd grade take the Elementary Level, which has questions created at the 3rd – 6th grade level. Students in 4th – 5th grade take the Intermediate Level, which has questions created at the 6th – 9th grade level. Students in grade 6 and above take the Advanced Level, which has questions created at the 9th – 12th grade level of achievement. The SCAT test has a verbal (analogies) and quantitative section.
