Description

If you enjoy games like Mario Kart, Need For Speed, and Burnout, this class is for you!  Students will learn to replicate those games onto Roblox, and while doing so learn programming concepts along the way. The instructor will also show students what the game looks like in multiplayer and see it evolve trackside. This is an INTERMEDIATE CLASS for students who have experience with Roblox and have completed an Intro. to Roblox Studio class.

 

Course Outline:

  • Creating Custom objects: The cars, racetrack, and custom designs
  • Creating Realism: Sounds, if statements, animation, and gravity
  • Damage Modifiers: Speed modifiers based on powerups and pickups
  • Creating Leaderboards & timesheets with variables
  • Graphical User Interface (GUI)
  • Putting all the mechanics and algorithms together

 

Prior to Class:

Please make sure a Roblox account is set up, and your child knows their login information.

Please Download and Install Roblox Studio here: www.roblox.com/create

Be sure to use a desktop or a laptop for this class as Roblox Studio cannot be accessed with a tablet.
