Python Arctic Racing Adventure! (4th-10th Grade)

Join us for a captivating journey into the Arctic, where you'll merge your coding skills with the magic of game design. Prepare to race through the North Pole's wintry landscapes and experience the thrill of turning your game development dreams into reality. Prepare for a thrilling and educational journey into the heart of game development with "Python Sleigh Ride Racers." In this unique course, students will harness the power of Python to create an enchanting racing game set in the magical landscapes of the North Pole. If you have a passion for coding and a desire to explore the world of game design, this is the perfect winter wonderland for your creativity to flourish.

By the end of "Python Sleigh Ride Racers," you'll have not only developed your very own enchanting racing game but also sharpened your Python programming expertise. You'll gain a deep understanding of game development principles, 2D sprite animation, and the mechanics of creating immersive gaming experiences.

Students will learn the following:

• Classes
• Functions
• Library pip installation
• import methods
• multiple file creation
• sprite interaction, collision, and movement
• Sound files for use in movement, collision, and collection detection

*Please Note: This is an in-depth project and the class requires that students have Above-Average Computer Literacy, Typing, and knowledge of Python Programming. 

*INSTRUCTOR NOTE:  Recommend having 2 screens, and having downloaded Python IDE or PyCharm is preferred. Replit would be okay as well.
