Class Details:
Students will be taught an introduction to code by using the blocked-based visual programming language called Scratch. The students will learn the different code blocks and understand the possibilities. They will create a shark chase game in Scratch. This course creates a beginner foundation in programming which can be used in other advanced languages. Students will be using critical thinking skills.
This class is very interactive and focuses on project-based learning. This class promotes teamwork, creativity, and innovation. Students will have many opportunities to ask questions and help each other fix bugs in programs At the end of class there will be a brief discussion on what the students learned and experienced.

Hi my name is Andrea, and I am a Computer Science/STEM teacher. I grew up in Clinton Township, MI.
I am married with two children and teach in the same school district where I attended school.

This course creates a beginner foundation in programming which can be used in other advanced languages. This class is very interactive and focuses on project-based learning.
