Express Yourself: Fun with Public Speaking! (5th- 6th Grade)

Anyone can speak publicly, but very few can be effective public speakers. At the very least, public speakers must know the very basics that any other effective public speaker would be able to spot, as speaking in front of an audience involves so much more than saying words to the audience. This class will focus on the aspects important to public speaking such as eye contact, tone, energy, movement, and mistakes to avoid like verbal fillers.

Public speaking is an important aspect of society. From being assertive to knowing the social etiquette of certain scenarios. Your child will improve their confidence, and become more assertive. They will write and present their own material, present with others, conduct their own shows, perform improv, and learn the intricacies of this important subject.

Materials needed: Pen and paper 

Prerequisites: Ability to read and write English.
