Other Influences on WPPSI Test Results

If your child performs poorly on a test like the WPPSI ERB test or a similar IQ assessment exam, there may be other factors that are contributing to the lower ranking. The WPPSI test, which is also commonly known as the Wechsler test and the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence Test, is an IQ assessment exam that is usually given to children just before they enter kindergarten but can be used as an admittance measure for some private preschools, as well.

As the exam is given to very young children, and as issues with eyesight in little kids is rarely detected until a child enters school, many children who at first perform poorly on the WPPSI ERB test show marked improvement after receiving an eye exam and having corrective measures taken to improve their eye sight. So, if your child does not do well on the WPPSI test, you may want to seek and appointment with an eye doctor to determine if vision issues may have played a role in his or her WPPSI test scores.
