NYC Gifted and Talented Test Results 47% Increase for city-Wide applicants

Well, it just got even harder to get into one of New York City’s city wide gifted and talented program for next year. There was over a 47% increase in the number of children who got in the 97th percentile above. Anderson School, one of the most sought after city wide G&T programs is only allowing parents of children who received in the 99th percentile attend their information sessions this week, even though the cut-off is officially 97th percentile. With the changes announced for testing next year and the BSRA-Bracken no longer being used and replaced with the NNAT-2 (Naglieri) we’ll see what the impact of this change has on the scores next year.

Below are 2 charts showing the overall results of the gifted and talented scores and then the results by district.
