New York City Gifted and Talented Test
The time is inching closer to the NYC gifted and talented test for all the talented tots across the 5 boroughs. Here are some sample questions for the New York City Gifted and Talented test. Are you smarter than a 4-year-old? Well, find out with the questions below. These are the types of questions a 4-year-old is expected to answer to qualify for a coveted seat in the the NYC G&T program. Even with a top score a child is still not guaranteed a spot since so many kids are applying for a limited amount of kindergarten seats in the most cut-throat city in the world starting at the ripe old age of four!
Check out the practice questions for the OLSAT® test (Otis-Lennon School Ability Test®) and the NNAT-2® test (Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test). Can you believe they expect a 4-year-old child to answer these types of questions. Most adults struggle with these. The OLSAT test is the verbal portion of the test and the youngster is required to answer 30 questions. The NNAT-2 test is the non-verbal portion of the exam and the child is required to answer 48 questions for a grand total of 78 questions. Let’s hope the child can maintain his or her attention span during these two tests which can last well over an hour and are given back-to-back with limited breaks. In case you’re wondering; the parents cannot be in the room when the test is administered so the child is whisked away with a complete stranger who may or may not be kid friendly. Welcome to New York City folks! Gotta love and hate the city for this one.
